ABOUT US

WHAT WE DO

Our basketball events strive to be a sanctuary where everyone is celebrated for their unique contributions to the game. We want the court to serve as a stage for empowerment, self-expression, and a way to create highlight-worthy plays with like-minded players.

Together, we hope to shape a future where everyone is welcome, respected, and uplifted, one basket at a time.

WHY WEโ€™RE DOING IT

Chicago, known for its rich basketball culture and storied history in the sport, has long been hailed as one of the top basketball cities in the United States. However, the reality is that opportunities to hoop competitively in a space that truly prioritizes all players have been limited.

We hope to create a space where the love of the game thrives and the basketball dreams of women and feminine aligning individuals are prioritized.

HOW WEโ€™RE DOING IT

We host weekly basketball games that offer free pre-game snacks such as water, Gatorade, fruit snacks, and apple sauce packets.

However, runs arenโ€™t the only thing we host! We also do the occasional basketball clinic and social outing to facilitate community bonding and skill development.

WHO WE ARE

Alondra Segoviano | Founder

Off The Dribble was founded by Alondra Segoviano (she/her), a senior content strategist by day and basketball player by night. She has over 15+ years of experience playing competitive basketball, as well as coaching for youth teams and adult programs. After playing locally in various leagues and pickup opportunities as an adult, she felt like there were limited opportunities for players of all types to play that genuinely tried to create the best experience possibleโ€”thus came the birth of OTD.

As an active basketball player herself, she strives to create a space that welcomes all, helps players tap back into their love of the game, and makes it less daunting to make new friends.
